This is a fly by night company. They are unresponsive via both telephone and email and do not care about their customers. 110% do not recommend. If you have a claim they will not assess it fairly. The inspectors they use, along with the engineers will level with you and tell you that they have only been in business for 4 years and are cheap and will not pay out what they should. I have had experience with other insurance companies in the past and those experiences VASTLY outshine my experience with Gulf States.

My wife & I filed a roof claim with Gulf States Ins. due to some damage that a recent storm caused. They sent a 3rd party adjuster out to assess the damage. ~1 week later the adjuster company sent us a denial letter stating that the damage was not sufficient (< our deductible to repair). We talked with 2 different roofing contractors that both agreed that the roof was in fact not repairable. A week or so after receiving the denial letter from the adjuster, we received a "Notice of Cancellation" letter from Gulf States due to our roof's condition. These two forms of documentation contradict one another: the denial letter would lead one to believe that there isn't much damage while the Notice of Cancellation letter would lead one to believe that the condition of the roof is too risky to insure.

They have an amazing team, available underwriters who answer call promptly, a management team always trying to make a better way, and a claim force that is efficient and effective. The company is run by experienced, smart, and innovative management team, which manages the development and growth of the company meticulously. Having been in the insurance industry for 30+ years, I absolutely recommend Gulf States Insurance!
