Trusted Choice's MexiPass International Insurance Services Score

3 Stars

We award MexiPass International Insurance Services a final rating of three out of five stars. MexiPass has a long history and expertise in the Mexican insurance industry. It offers a variety of policy options for businesses and individuals and receives high marks for its coverage and customer service.

MexiPass has a high rating from the Better Business Bureau (BBB), but it is not rated by AM Best or other rating agencies. This makes it difficult to assess the company’s financial strength. However, MexiPass states that it partners with carriers each rated "A" or higher by AM Best.

The company doesn’t offer a lot of information about its claims and service availability and options. The company does work with a network of independent insurance agents. We did not find many online customer satisfaction reviews, but those we found are largely positive.

MexiPass International Insurance Services was founded in 1989 to help customers access the international insurance market. Its purpose was to provide international and Mexican insurance and risk management services to all independent insurance producers in the United States and Canada.

It maintains a long-lasting general agency and underwriting management agreement with AIG-Mexico, as well as relationships with AIG, Chubb, AXA, and international insurance underwriters. Its products include individual car, boat, and home insurance, as well as comprehensive business and commercial insurance solutions.

The carrier's website and customer service options could stand to be updated. But overall, if you’re looking for insurance for a car or home in Mexico, we recommend looking into MexiPass for your coverage needs. You just may want to work with your independent insurance agent to survey other options, too.

MexiPass Insurance FAQs

MexiPass does not publish an average claims response time frame. Claims reporting by phone seems to be the preferred option.

MexiPass offers customer service by phone, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm PST. Customers can also reach the insurance company by fax, email, and via its social media, including Facebook, X, LinkedIn, and YouTube. Most services can be obtained by contacting the insurance agent who sold you your policy.

The MexiPass website includes a secure login for insureds, but there is no information published about how to report or file a new claim for any type of policy. An independent insurance agent can file claims through the carrier for you.

The MexiPass official website leaves a lot to be desired. Customer service is by phone during regular business hours on weekdays. The website does not indicate what services are available from the secure portal. Overall, MexiPass falls short in the user-friendliness department.

MexiPass offers home insurance for Americans and other foreign residents who have homes in Mexico. These policies include standard coverages, but customers can add optional coverage for natural disasters or scheduled valuable property.

Mexipass specializes in providing Mexican insurance to American individuals and businesses. The company specializes in catering to this niche market, and works with only highly rated insurers. With its level of expertise, wide array of policy choices, and positive customer reviews, we believe MexiPass is a good option for people looking for short or long-term Mexican insurance.

MexiPass's insurance products may be right for Americans and other foreign citizens in need of coverage for a home or business located in Mexico. Residents across the U.S. can find a policy.
