If you own a vehicle in Utah, you are required to have car insurance. In this state, all auto insurance policies must include, at a minimum:
- $25,000 in bodily injury liability coverage per person
- $65,000 in bodily injury liability coverage per accident
- $15,000 in property damage liability coverage per accident
- $3,000 in personal injury protection (PIP) coverage per person
If you are leasing your car or still owe on a car loan, you may also be required to carry collision and comprehensive coverage to pay for damage to your own vehicle, regardless of fault. Additionally, you can choose from a number of other coverage options such as uninsured motorist insurance, rental car reimbursement, and towing & roadside assistance.
